About the municipality
Villanueva de Algaidas, as La Atalaya belongs, is the second-northernmost municipality in Málaga province, and part of the municipality borders directly to Córdoba province.
At the census in 2014 there were registered 4,373 inhabitants in the municipality, covering an area of 75 km2 and is located at 545 meters above sea level.
It's a small town, yet big enough to the main facilities which are: medical center, pharmacy, supermarkets, many retail stores and many traditional bars, which is of course the social meeting places in the city's various neighborhoods.
The city has high unemployment and any project that may create jobs, will be looked at very positively from the town hall.
